Different identifier types may apply depending on the condition\u00a0being reported\u00a0and type of data being linked.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Within\u00a0the\u00a0Identifiers\u00a0data class,\u00a0two\u00a0existing elements\u2014Person ID\u00a0(formerly Local Subject ID)\u00a0and\u00a0Case ID\u00a0(formerly Local Record ID),\u00a0were renamed and\u00a0redefined\u00a0for\u00a0clarity.\u00a0\u00a0As required\u00a0fields, these elements\u00a0were\u00a0reviewed\u00a0in the consensus process\u00a0as part of\u00a0the written recommendations\u00a0rather than\u00a0voted on\u00a0as core\u00a0data elements.\u00a0To\u00a0accommodate\u00a0the range of identifier types needed across conditions,\u00a0an\u00a0additional\u00a0repeating group\u00a0of two elements is recommended\u00a0as core, allowing\u00a0for flexible transmission of\u00a0identifier\u00a0information.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
